We love the history of these pots, used in the South of France in the late 1800’s, to preserve food.
They were partially buried in the cold ground and glazed midway to protect the terracotta.
This is an exceptionally large confit, it does have an old repair to it (as photographed), but it still makes a lovely decorative feature on a kitchen shelf.
