French Biot Jarre

A beautiful and rare 19th century, French “Biot Jarre” from Provence, traditionally used to store flour or preserve olives.

Distinctive for their wonderful rounded shape and pale yellow glazing internally and around the rim. It also has some beautiful droplets of green glaze on one of the sides.

It has expertedly restored after evidence an old break, but the patina has since developed adding to its character.
