19th Century Biot Jarre

A beautiful French “Biot Jarre” from Provence, traditionally used to store flour or preserve olives.

Distinctive for their wonderful shape and glazing internally and around the rim. The beautiful drips of yellow and green glaze on the pot were known as “mother-in-laws-tears”.

There is a drainage hole on the side, as shown in the photos.
