
This rare and exquisite planter is from Castelnaudary, in the South of France.
They were used for planting citrus trees and traditionally designed with handles to enable lifted into the house for winter months. The emerald green glaze is typical of pottery from Castelnaudary.
It’s full of character, with an old and sturdy repair and a slightly overall tilt, which gives it an affable demeanour.
